Finance Manager        Part-time (3 days a week) 

A  varied role where every day will always be different. You will support the CFO on supporting the whole business during this rapid scale-up phase. In addition, you will have the autonomy to define and implement processes from scratch, with training and support where needed. 

 

We are seeking a qualified Finance professional, and the job requires good time management and attention to detail. In addition, expertise in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook is essential.

You will be responsible for the following:  

  • Financial Planning & Analysis 
  • Support the CFO with annual budget and quarterly reforecasts 
  • Tracking revenue and costs against budget, understanding and reporting on key variances 
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis on revenue, pricing, margins, and profitability 
  • Develop cost control strategies and optimise financial performance 
  • Financial Operations 
  • Oversee and manage the relationship with our outsourced FinOps provider who cover;
      - Accounts payable
      - Accounts receivable including credit control
      - Bank reconciliations
      - Payroll
      - Staff expenses, including commission calculations
      - Month-end journals  
      - Balance sheet reconciliations
      - Maintenance of the Fixed Asset register
      - Preparation of monthly management accounts  
      - Quarterly VAT returns
      - Annual P11Ds and PAYE Settlement Agreement 
  • Drive process improvements and enhance automation within outsourced operations 
  • Review of monthly management accounts with commentary and analysis for presentation to the Board 
  • Ownership of the annual statutory accounts and corporation tax return, including Research & Development tax relief (outsourced) 

 

About you  

We are looking for a competent all-rounder with extensive experience in financial management and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of improving financial processes, managing external providers, and delivering actionable insights that drive business performance, whilst also being incredibly flexible with an adaptable attitude, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

 

  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent 
  • Experienced in working with Xero accounting software or similar 
  • Highly competent in Excel  
  • Organised and proactive 
  • Discretion – you will be privy to confidential information 
  • Team player – happy to support the team and be supported by the team 
  • Strong communication skills  
  • Excellent attention to details  
  • The ability to set priorities to enable work to be done effectively under pressure
